One hundred photos of food from over 50 countries rejuvenated the pastel yellow and turquoise walls of the Homefront Gallery in Long Island City. Blender, a food photo exhibit by Hidemi Takagi, celebrates the diversity of food she has collected from several neighborhoods.

“We don’t know much about immigrants in New York because we don’t talk to each other. It’s good to share this here because we’re all from New York,” said Takagi.

Blender will stay at the Homefront Gallery until April 9 before it moves to Time Square as a public art project chosen by the Times Square Art Alliance.

The Homefront Gallery is located at 26-23 Jackson Ave., Long Island City, NY 11101.
